Requirement:
The Chino Valley Independent Fire
District approached Shark Studios to design a website to
provide information to the public regarding the services
they provide over the large Chino Valley area of Los
Angeles, including fire prevention, emergency medical
and paramedic services. The site needed to be
easily updated by staff and administrators.
Solutions:
The resulting site includes an easy navigational scheme using drop
down menus, flash movies, calendars and a database-driven
content management system allowing non-technical users to
easily update the website using a simple browser with
internet connection anytime, anywhere. An intuitive design and drop
down navigational structure encourages users to
browse and allows them to quickly find the information
they need. A Navigation bar with ‘breadcrumbs' was created
in order to show users where they were on the site,
providing an immediate pathway back to previously viewed
content. The site includes board agendas and
minutes, firefighter training, safety tips and other
information regarding the essential services they provide
to the community.
Results:
The final result is a site that allows CVIFD to be
independent in the management and growth of their own
website through the use of content management. It
reflects management's commitment to making vital
information available to the public as quickly as
possible. The site is well organized and information
is easily located within one or two clicks. CVIFD
now has a foundation for their organization's website
which will allow information to go out to the public
faster and more easily.
