Recent company news...
[ 5/15/08 ]The Pryor Area Chamber of Commerce and
Shark Studios recently announced the launch
of the city's
new chamber website, featuring new
information about the Chamber of Commerce
and the outlying area. The Pryor area
is one of Oklahoma's fastest growing areas,
including MidAmerica Industrial Park, one of the largest industrial
parks in the nation.
The new Chamber of Commerce website
includes a customized Content Management
Solution, allowing non-technical staff
members to easily update and manage their own website.
Content Management will enable the PACC
to keep the public better informed with
timely information about upcoming events,
local news, and information about their
membership.
A new logo was developed to give the
chamber more brand identity and
marketability. The byline, "moving
business forward" was established to help
associate the chamber with one of it's
primary functions of assisting local
business development and attracting new
employers to the area, such as recent
newcomers Google and Gaterade.
Shark Studios also implemented a
strategy for raising online revenue through
the use of member spotlights and selected
online ads. Ads are randomly generated
to avoid preferential treatment and link to
more detailed information about each
advertiser.
Also integrated into the new site is
Weblink International's
Chamber WebLink software, which is
focused solely on the unique needs of
membership-based organizations, helping to use
the latest internet technology to improve
communications, membership sales, retention
and non-dues revenue.
[ 4/21/08 ]Douglas Parking, headquartered in
Oakland, CA has recently upgraded their
corporate web presence by teaming with Shark Studios
to develop their
redesigned website. The new site will support their parking
operations in 3 states, California, Oregon,
and Nevada as well as their International
operations in Athens, Greece.
Through the use of Google's new
application programming interface, Shark
Studios has developed custom interactive
maps for all of Douglas parking facilities,
including street map, satellite, and hybrid
views. In addition, customers can
enter a final destination address to
view a map of the closest parking facility.
A Content Management System will allow
Douglas staff to update the site quickly and
easily, including the ability to plug in new locations and maps, pricing
information, coupons, files, and update news
items so that the most current information is
always
available.
Douglas Parking was founded in 1930 in
Oakland, California by Sanford Douglas. Today
the private, family-owned company owns,
manages or leases over 100 parking facilities
in 26 Bay Area cities as well as in Portland,
Oregon, Las Vegas, Nevada and Athens, Greece.
[ 3/19/08 ]Drowning is the number one killer of
children under the age of 5. The
majority of drowning incidents occur in
residential swimming pools and spas.
Drowning is 100% preventable and only a
momentary lack of supervision can put a
child at risk.
ABCPoolSafety.org is a collaborative
effort of fire departments, cities, counties
and other drowning prevention organizations
from around the country dedicated to
preventing accidental drowning. Shark
Studios was approached about creating a
user-friendly website which would include
the ABC's of Pool Safety, online streaming
CPR and drowning prevention videos, and
other important information to guard against
accidental drowning among children. The
website is intended to be used by parents
and guardians of children under the age of
5.
A new logo was developed to give the
organization a stronger identity. The
concept of using children's blocks to spell
"A B C" in the logo enhances the association
between "children" and "pool safety".
The site is driven by a customized
Content Management System, allowing staff
from various drowning prevention
organizations to contribute to the content
of the site with little or no technical
training.
For online streaming videos, a
YouTube.com channel was created so that
videos could be accessed using an embedded
flash player directly on their website.
Meta tags were created in order to make it
easier for users of the YouTube video
community to find the videos on YouTube and
links were provided to stimulate traffic
flow to the organizations website as well as
give the site more visibility with major
search engines.
[ 2/16/08 ]The
Twentynine Palms Chamber of
Commerce has partnered with Shark Studios to
assist them in increasing online revenues through the use of
online advertising. The Chamber is
beginning to capitalize on a 1,000 percent
increase in web traffic since the rollout of
their new site, developed by Shark Studios
over 2 years ago.
Utilizing sophisticated web
traffic reports, the Chamber has been able
to selectively sell member ads based on most frequently
visited pages. Banner ads are linked
to member spotlight pages, where users can
get more detailed information including
contact info, links to member websites, and
other information.
The Chamber has been able to double the size of their
website through the use of a customized
Content Management Solution, implemented by
Shark Studios. Content Management
allows the chamber to use
non-technical staff to update and manage
their own website. Keeping the site
constantly updated with current news, coming
events, newsletters and other vital
information has led to the chamber's success
in web traffic growth, creating new
opportunities for generating revenue online.
